Caesarea, Megiddo, Nazareth, Tiberias

Depart for the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Caesarea, once the Roman Capital. After visiting the theater and the aqueduct, we’ll continue to Mt. Carmel where Elijah fought against the priests of Ba’al. Then on to Megiddo to see the site of the Armageddon and King Solomon’s Stables; and walk the elaborate ancient water system. We continue onto Nazareth, visit the Church of the Annunciation. Overnight in Tiberias.

 Tiberias, Sea of Galilee

Today we will enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee with time for worship and singing, visit & meditate on the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount and performed miracles , tour Capernaum, the home of Peter, Andrew, James, and John and where Jesus lived during most of his ministry. Visit Tabgha, the site of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fish, stop at kibbutz Ginosar to see and hear about the discovery of a 2,000 year old “Jesus” boat. Spend some quiet and reflective time along the River Jordan (Optional Baptism Service available). Overnight in Tiberias.

Bet Shean, Jerusalem

As we travel today to Jerusalem, we have the opportunity to visit Biblical sites along the way – Beit She’an, expansive archeological ruins of an ancient city inhabited for 5000 years ,where King Saul was killed , and one of the Roman cities through which Jesus passed during travels from Galilee to Jerusalem. We continue on to Qumran, the caves where a shepherd discovered the Dead Sea scrolls in 1947. Finally, an opportunity to swim (or dip a foot!) in the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on the earth’s surface. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, Mt. of Olive, Temple Mount, Israel Museum, Shrine of the Book

We begin our explorations with a drive to the beautiful Mt. of Olives to behold the breath-taking panorama of the Holy City. Descend to Gethsemane with its ancient olive grove. We will enter Jerusalem through the Dung Gate, and walk to the holiest site in the whole Jewish world, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod’s temple. This will include a visit to the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount (the actual steps where Jesus walked). Beyond the wall lies the 35-acre temple area purchased by King David (2 Sam. 24:18-25). We will visit Hezekiah’s waterway, then make our way to St. Stephen’s Gate, St. Anne’s Crusader Church, Pools of Bethesda, the Sister of Zion Convent (to see the Pavement where Jesus stood as he was being tried by Pilate), passing the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa, ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We’ll visit the Garden Tomb for Communion. In the afternoon, we will visit Bethlehem and experience some important biblical sites. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
